Software Solutions works with potential clients using some or all of the steps listed below.

 

ü      Software Solutions meets with you, the potential client, to:

§       Get a sense of current tasks and the flow of the operation

§       Meet the people who will use the system or its outputs

§       Observe programs used currently

§       Review current forms

§       Review current reports

§       Review the additions and changes in functionality you want

ü    Software Solutions develops and submits a proposal.  This document lists client objectives, describes current circumstances, and lists tasks to be undertaken to accomplish the objectives.  A range of charges is proposed.  The low end is always a target but the upper end is assured.  The only way a project will exceed the upper end is (1) if we are able to justify to you the increase in light of, say, unforeseen complexities or (2) if you the client come up with new ideas not included in the agreed upon proposal.  This latter event happens often as clients expand projects when they discover additional opportunities in their operations.  The proposal also contains a projected time line.

ü      Client accepts final version of proposal.

ü      Software Solutions develops and submits a specification document.  This document provides a clear guide to what tasks the program will do and how the client will implement these tasks within the program.  The client may ask for changes, and the document itself may actually contain questions for the client to answer (“Do you prefer this approach or that approach?”)  This document serves as a both a design guide and a communication tool.

ü      Software Solutions develops the system.  If he or she wishes, the client may see the system at different stages of development.

ü      Software Solutions drafts documentation as required.  Some systems may require full documentation of every task; others may need only illustrative notes for more critical or less transparent tasks, or no documentation at all.  This is up to you, the client.

ü      Software Solutions installs the system and trains client as needed.

ü    Software Solutions provides support after the installation.  Whether you have a question, have encountered a bug, or request a needed enhancement, Software Solutions stays with you after the system is running at your site.  We suggest that we have access to your system via modem or internet (under your control with regard to security precautions and time of day or night) so that system modifications may be made without a site visit.  Most modifications may be made this way.  This allows us to address your needs rapidly, sometimes within hours or even minutes.

ü    Software Solutions focuses on clients within a hundred mile radius of South Bend , Indiana .  This includes Chicago , Lafayette , and Fort Wayne .  We’ll be glad to discuss possibilities with clients outside this radius, however.  Long distance relationships may be implemented with remarkable ease using modem and internet connections.
